As of January 1, 2023, it became mandatory to have charging points for electric cars in parkings with more than 20 spaces. These charging points must be available both inside and outside the parking. This is marked by the Royal Decree 184/2022 approved by the Government to promote Electric Mobility. Thus, the lack of charging points is one of the biggest obstacles for people who want to acquire an ecological car. The rule establishes the installation of an electric charger for every 40 parking spaces or fraction and one station for every 100 additional spaces. Furthermore, in buildings under the ownership of the General State Administration or linked public bodies, a charging station will be installed for every 20 spaces and one more station for every 100 additional spaces. In order to speed up this process, the installation of charging points does not need to previously obtain building, environmental or similar licenses.
